A month after the release of Palworld, which sold over 15 million copies, the initial enthusiasm began to wane. However, wealthy competitors quickly capitalized on the huge success of this game, dubbed "Pokémon with firearms," aiming to replicate its formula, according to the head of game development.
"Tencent is already working on its own version of Palworld!" recently announced Takuro Mizobe, CEO of PocketPair, on Twitter. He seemed pleased with the developments, adding, "We live in extraordinary times." Initially, some media interpreted his words as dissatisfaction, with IGN even describing Mizobe as accusing others of stealing the Palworld concept, an interpretation he later refuted.
"In my opinion, Tencent’s actions are not illegal. I am proud that others want to emulate our game. The gaming industry often refreshes itself by borrowing ideas from beloved projects. It's impressive that so many quality mobile games are currently being developed," says Mizobe.
Initially, Palworld was accused of plagiarizing the Pokémon series from Game Freak, particularly due to similarities in character design, with some online analysts even pointing to deep structural similarities.
"We take our game development very seriously," Mizobe stated then. "And we have no intention of infringing on other companies' intellectual property rights."
Nintendo, the publisher of Pokémon, commented on the controversy but decided not to pursue legal action. "We did not authorize the use of intellectual property or Pokémon assets in that game," the company announced in January. "We plan to investigate and take necessary actions against any infringements of our intellectual property rights related to Pokémon."

I’m Mr.Brauwn, and I’ve been part of the Minecraft world for over 10 years. Like many others, I started playing with friends in the early versions, but soon I discovered that servers had enormous potential to create unique experiences. Servers and Projects Over time, I specialized in creating custom servers, developing private projects, events, and collaborations with content creators. Configuring plugins, designing systems, and shaping communities quickly became an essential part of my daily life. The Leap into Content Creation After so many years working on servers, I realized I could also share all that knowledge and those experiences visually. That’s how I started streaming on Twitch, showcasing my own servers and playing on them with the community. From Twitch to YouTube Later on, I understood that this content shouldn’t only remain in livestreams. I decided to launch my YouTube channel, where I share curiosities, tutorials, plugin reviews, updates, and technical aspects of Minecraft. It’s a space for other players and creators to discover the same potential I once found in this game. What Minecraft Means to Me For me, Minecraft is more than just a game. It’s a part of my daily life: recording, editing, testing mods, configuring plugins, building, and sharing with my community. After more than a decade, my goal remains the same: to create, inspire, and enjoy this infinite world alongside everyone who joins me on the adventure.
