Sturgeon Stardew Valley

TIP

The Sturgeon is one of 70 fish species available for catching in Stardew Valley. This detailed guide will explain when and where to find a Sturgeon and how much it sells for.

Sturgeon Stardew Valley

To complete the Lake Fish Bundle in the Community Center's Fish Tank, you’ll need a Sturgeon. This fish can be caught in Mountain Lake, located north of Pelican Town.

You can also occasionally purchase a Sturgeon: it’s available at Krobus’ shop on Wednesdays for 200g or at the Traveling Cart, where prices range from 600 to 1,000g.

When to catch a Sturgeon?

Sturgeons only appear during summer and winter. While weather doesn’t play a major role, rainy days in summer slightly increase your chances of catching one. This fish is active between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

Sturgeon Sell Prices

Quality Base Price Fisherman Profession Price Angler Profession Price
Normal 200g 250g 300g
Silver 250g 312g 375g
Gold 300g 375g 450g
Iridium 400g 500g 600g

In addition to selling it, you can place a Sturgeon in a Fish Pond. Once in the pond, it will start producing Sturgeon Roe, which can be processed into a luxury item. Use a Preserve Jar to turn it into Caviar, which has a base selling price of 500g.

How to Create a Fish Pond

To start breeding Sturgeons in Stardew Valley, you need to build a fish pond. Fortunately, this is a straightforward process. Robin, the carpenter, will gladly assist you if you provide the required materials and payment.

To construct a fish pond, you’ll need: 5,000 gold, 200 stones, five seaweed, and five green algae. The pond takes up 5 × 5 tiles and requires two days for Robin to complete. Once it’s ready, you can add fish to the pond, where they will thrive.

Over time, the fish in the pond will reproduce, and their number can increase to a maximum of ten. However, as the population grows, the fish will start making specific requests. These requests vary by fish species, but here, we’ll focus on Sturgeons.

What Do Sturgeons Need in the Pond?

Initially, your first Sturgeon will ask for a diamond. Four days later, another Sturgeon will appear. When the pond reaches three Sturgeons, they will request one jar of any jelly, two bottles of maple syrup, or one jar of any pickled vegetables. At five Sturgeons, they will ask for three Omni Geodes. Finally, when the population reaches seven, they will request a Nautilus Shell.

Additional Customization Options

If you have multiple ponds with different fish species, you can label them to avoid confusion. Additionally, the "change appearance" option in the fish pond menu allows you to customize the pond’s decorations, making it unique.

I’m Mr.Brauwn, and I’ve been part of the Minecraft world for over 10 years. Like many others, I started playing with friends in the early versions, but soon I discovered that servers had enormous potential to create unique experiences. Servers and Projects Over time, I specialized in creating custom servers, developing private projects, events, and collaborations with content creators. Configuring plugins, designing systems, and shaping communities quickly became an essential part of my daily life. The Leap into Content Creation After so many years working on servers, I realized I could also share all that knowledge and those experiences visually. That’s how I started streaming on Twitch, showcasing my own servers and playing on them with the community. From Twitch to YouTube Later on, I understood that this content shouldn’t only remain in livestreams. I decided to launch my YouTube channel, where I share curiosities, tutorials, plugin reviews, updates, and technical aspects of Minecraft. It’s a space for other players and creators to discover the same potential I once found in this game. What Minecraft Means to Me For me, Minecraft is more than just a game. It’s a part of my daily life: recording, editing, testing mods, configuring plugins, building, and sharing with my community.
