To find the Great Katana, you need to reach the Great Bridge of the Northern Location of Grace in the Plains Tomb. Then, head west towards the nearby water body and look out for the Phantom Fire Dragon in the center of this area. Near this dragon lies a corpse where you can find the Great Katana.

You can obtain the Great Katana without having to fight this powerful enemy. Simply mount Torrent, quickly grab the weapon, and leave the area. You can return to battle the dragon later when your character is better prepared.
